Mildred J. McCluskey

Mildred J. McCluskey (nee Hoffman), age 93 of Griffith, IN, passed away January 15, 2017 in Hollister, CA. Mildred was blessed with six children: Sons Robert (deceased) and wife Beverly, Greg (Gail) of Loveland, CO, Richard (Carolyn) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, daughters Sharon of Hollister, CA, Jane (John) Stangel of Greenfield, IN, and Patricia Gere of Hollister, CA. Her seven grandchildren are: Greg McCluskey, Bob McCluskey, David Wagner, Jennifer McCluskey, Nicole Greninger, Robbie Gere and Joseph McCluskey. Mildred’s seven great-grandchildren are: Robert McCluskey, Kimberly McCluskey, Dylan Lindesay, Kayden Lindesay, Gabriel Wagner, Charlotte Wagner and Ellie Greninger. Millie was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, two brothers, Lou and Art Hoffman, and step-brother, Bob Holsapple.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 23rd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Griffith, IN, with Rev. Theodore Mens officiating. Burial will follow the mass at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 22nd from 2:00 to 7:00 PM (with a 6:30 PM) prayer service at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN.

Mildred was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Rosary Society, and she worked funeral luncheons at St. Mary’s Hildebrandt Hall for many years. Mildred also delivered Meals on Wheels for over 30 years.

Mildred loved to bowl, and also enjoyed being a member of the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club. Her selfless and life-long volunteering for her community and devotion to her children will continue to serve as an inspiration to those of us she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed!
