
Norman "Nob" Kostoff, age 86, of Hammond, IN passed away January 10, 2013. Beloved husband for 60 years to Maudie Kostoff (nee Glasgow). Norman was born in Hammond on April 21, 1926. He went to Hammond High School graduating in June of 1945. Norman was drafted into the Army and completed his senior year of high school while he served in the Army's 302nd Field Artillery Battalion 76th Division in Germany during WWII. He was a maintenance pipefitter at Mobil Oil Refinery in East Chicago and retired from Keil Chemical of Hammond, IN in 1989. Nob had a love for travel, food, classic cars, he treasured his family, loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nob had four children, preceded in death by his only son, Norman Christopher Kostoff; brother, Costa Kostoff; and sister, Agnes Martin. He is survived by his wife, Maudie Kostoff (nee Glasgow); sister, Sophie Kostoff; brother, Rock Kostoff; daughters: Peggy (late Daniel) Green, Judy (Jeffery) Dembowski and Jennifer (Shawn) Toczek; grandchildren: Adrienne (Kevin) Green Cox, Nathaniel (Bianca) Green, Nicholas Green, Jeffery Dembowski Jr., Jenna (Jake) Dembowski LaReau, Taylor Kostoff, Austin Kostoff, Caden Toczek, Ryder Toczek and Addison Toczek; five great grandchildren: Kameron Cox, Abigal Cox, Ian Green, Levi Green and Landon LaReau; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Gibbs of Ross Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nob's loving memory to Ross Baptist Church's Building Fund of Gary, IN or a charity of your choice .
