and went to meet his heavenly Father on Wednesday November

18, 2015. Bob was a strong source of encouragement to all the

lives he touched. His dedication and love for family were obvious

to anyone who knew him. Bob is survived by his loving wife Joan

(Ridder) of 63 years; children Lauree (Wayne) Pondinas, Mary

(John) Rosenbaum, and Steve (Deb) Zeldenrust. He was a loving

and cherished Papa to Amanda (Dan) Groenewold, Ryan (Kate)

Pondinas, Brad Eaton, Emily Eaton, Matt Rosenbaum, Jon

Zeldenrust, Eric Zeldenrust and great granddaughter Hope.

Preceded in death by daughter Pamela, grandsons Aaron and

Andrew, and brothers Herman, Jack, and Don Zeldenrust. Bob

was born December 17, 1930 to John and Tina Zeldenrust. He

graduated from Bloom Township High School in 1948. After a

brief stint in the service he received a B. S. in Mechanical

Engineering from Bradley University in 1962 and went on to

receive his MBA from Loyola University in 1970. He was

employed at NIPSCO for 25 years starting as a mechanical engineer.

He eventually rose to the rank of Vice President of Human

Resources, prior to retiring in 1987. Bob was a family man above

all else. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with his wife

Joan and family. In his later years he especially enjoyed spending

the winter in Leesburg, FL. He was an active member of Trinity

Reformed Church in Munster, IN. In addition he and his wife Joan

founded and supported Living Faith Ministries in Ghana, Africa.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Reformed Church on Sunday

November 22 from 1 PM to 3 PM. A Celebration of Life service

will immediately follow the visitation. Food and fellowship will follow

the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Trinity

Reformed Church, 8411 Columbia Avenue, Munster IN 46321.
