Thomas B. Cherry, age 74, of Knox, formerly of Chesterton, IN passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. He is survived and loved by four children: Larry (Terri) Cherry, Lori (Tom) Wright, Phil (Jesica) Cherry, Nikko (Walt) Loman; the children's mother, Phyllis Leyba; fifteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter. Mr. Cherry was preceded in death by mother, Mary Cherry (nee Ameling). A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Cremation preceded the service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (time of service). Tom retired from U.S. Steel (Gary Works) with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #66 of Griffith.
