Wanda L. Dempsey

Wanda L. Dempsey (nee Smith) of Highland, Indiana (formerly of Riverdale, IL) passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She is survived by her sister Doneta Kozora and brother Monte Smith. She is also survived by her six children; JoAnn Dykhuisen, Debbie (Dan) Amsden, Jim (Donna) Dempsey, Eileen (Wade) Farrell, Dan (Karen) Dempsey and John (Dina) Dempsey and nine grandchildren, Billy, Jimmy, Becky, Kyle, Michael, Shannon, Danny, Bobby and Kelly. She is preceded in death by her husband James (Seamus) Dempsey.

7, 2011 from 2-8pm at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Avenue, Highland, IN. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:00am from Kuiper Funeral Home with internment at

Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Dempsey was a proud Navy veteran. She loved being a homemaker and always put her family first. She cherished her grandchildren and looked forward to their visits, sleepovers and long conversations. She loved that the would always “just stop by.” This is our first sorrow without her.
