James served in the Army and went on to work as a truck driver, a steady vocation that reflected a life shaped by duty, perseverance, and the quiet pride of providing through honest work. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union.
James is survived by his wife, Sandra Haddix; Son, David (Jamie) Filing of Mountain View, HI; Daughters, Suzanne (Tim) Tebbe of Post Falls, ID, Cindy (Kevin) McGee of Spirit Lake, ID, and Sherry (Glenn) Tucker of Mount Sterling, Ky; and his brother, Larry (Trisha) Haddix. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A Committal Service will be held at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery II, 110 Laimana St, Hilo, HI 96720, on April 23, 2026, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
