Art was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Art graduated from the University of Kentucky. Art had a successful career with Ford Motor Company and retired after 37 years of service. After retiring, Art moved to Tellico Village outside Lenoir City. Art was an active member
of Saint Thomas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Art is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mickey Janes and four children, Dr. Cynthia Janes, Art Janes, Jr., Constant Janes, and Katherine Janes and his two grandchildren, Thomas Janes, III and Drew Janes.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 6, at Alexian Village Chapel with Father Doug Owens of St. Thomas Catholic Church officiating.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Arthur’s name to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
