Barbara Blockley, 82, of Hixson, TN, died on Monday, July 4, 2011 in a local hospital. She was born in Mason City, Iowa and was a loving mother and grandmother. In past years she was an avid golfer and gave time to many charitable, family and golf events. Barbara was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.T. Blockley and a son, Carol D. Blockley. Survivors include two sons, Dr.Thomas E. (Karen) Blockley of Signal Mountain; John A. Blockley of Houston, Texas; her sister, Carol Ann (Jim) McKnight of Plano, Illinois; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Father Robert Hofstetter and Father Charlie Burton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415. Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist North Chapel.
