Betty was born on April 13, 1936, in Charlotte, N.C., to Ervin Mahaffey Sauls and Elva Irene Lofty. She graduated from Rossville High School in 1954 and went on to attend the University of Chattanooga (now UT), where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Technology. She completed her training at Baroness Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
She later moved to Atlanta, where she worked as a Supervisor of Medical Technology at Georgia Baptist and served as a Chemistry instructor until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Judy Teer; her son, Hubert Ellis Crocker; and her daughter, Kaye Lynn Wilson.
She is survived by her children, Richard Alan Crocker (JULIE) and Karen Elizabeth Seabrook (Dee); her sisters, Carolyn Gray and Shirley Luther; her grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Brandon Crocker, Michael Crocker, and Jonah Crocker; her great-grandchildren, Grayson and Avah Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty found great joy in traveling, especially alongside her sisters and loved ones. Europe held a special place in her heart, where each trip—filled with laughter, river cruises, and Christmas markets—became a cherished memory and some of the moments she treasured most.
A private graveside service will be held for Betty in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
