

Charles was born and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. He was a retired payroll accountant with ABB Combustion Engineering. Reverend Charles was a member of Pathway Baptist Church and taught the Adult Sunday School Class. He was an ordained Minister and served on the Prison Ministry for Walker County for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell R. Blevins; his parents, Gaines E. and Sue B. Blevins and a brother, Edward Blevins.
Charles is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie Whitesel and Denny and Lavone Frost and Jim; nephew, Jerry Blevins; cousin, Cleva Dell Blevins; and his loving friend Barbara Goodman and her family.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday and 12 to 1 pm on Wednesday at the North Chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service for Reverend Blevins will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Bill Lowery and Reverend Mike Davis officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Chattanooga, their nurses, Kim and Ruby and Reverend Charles’ caregivers, Terri and Cindy for their love, dedication and compassion given to Reverend Blevins during his illness.
