Charles retired from Chattanooga Glass and Chattanooga Boiler and Tank. He attended Community Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hannah Jones Rutherford; three brothers and one sister.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years Lawanda Wallin Rutherford; daughter, Glenda Nose; son, Tony (Kathy) Rutherford; grandkids, Cassie Rutherford, Zachary Rutherford, Katy and Dakota Nose; great granddaughter, Kaylee Rutherford; sisters, Arbutus Plank and Ruby (Grady) Carroll and brother, Luther Ray (Carolyn) Rutherford; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday and 2 to 8 pm on Friday at the North Chapel.
Services for Charles will be held at 11 am on Saturday at the North Chapel with Reverend Clifford Roth officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
