Cynthia Moree Pankey, 90, of Rossville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2011. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher having taught first grade for 20 years, including Walker County, Georgia; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Tampa, Florida. She retired in 1981.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gayzella McNary and three brothers, Lloyd McNary of Joplin, Missouri; Paul McNary of Arcola, Illinois; and William McNary of Orlando, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard L. Pankey; children, James (Katherine) Pankey, Apache Junction, Arizona; Rev. Richard A. (Janice) Pankey, Miami, Florida; Virgie (Larry) Mink, Rossville, Georgia; two sisters, Pauline (Robert) Wilson, Charleston, Illinios; Lenora Anne (Wayne) Kirkham, Indianapolis, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Lovett officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
