Formerly of Hixson, TN she owned and operated the Cross-Que Recreation Center in Middle Valley for 18 years. She worked for 24 ½ years at Dixie Yarns in Lupton City.
Faye loved her family, her garden and her animals and jug fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edgar (Kitten) Dobbins; her parents, William H. and Mary Ellen Arnold McCrary, a sister, Fern Norman and a brother, LeRoy McCrary.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Glenda Gail Pelfrey and special friends, Al and Tyler Hunt; grandson, Leland Pelfrey and family; great granddaughter, Hannah Pelfrey and great grandson, Hunter Pelfrey, special granddaughter, Shelly Jones; sisters, Mary Abney of Pisgah, AL, Jewell (Lonie) Adams, Ernesteen Roberts, Laura (Tommy) Timberlake all of Stevenson, AL; brothers, Wayne McCrary and Mark (Betty) McCrary of Pisgah, AL; several nieces and nephews and a large group of “adopted” grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel.
Services for Faye will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, at the North Chapel with the Rev. Weyland Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
