Dorris was born in Chattanooga to the late William and Ethel Glaze Block. She was a graduate of Central High School. Dorris worked for 3M, GE and retired from Coor’s Ceramic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Joseph Brown; two step-sons, Louis and Christopher Brown; brothers, Marion, Bill and Purnell; sisters, Margarite and her twin Dorothy.
Dorris is survived by her step-children, Julie (Ron) Peterson, Diane (Don) Harty, Brenda (Steve) Turner, Harold K. Brown, Sandra Chase and Fred Sullivan; several step – grandchildren, great step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 (noon) on Monday, October 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Dorris will follow at 12:30 pm on Monday, October 7, at National Cemetery with Chaplain Kevin Becker officiating.
