Elizabeth was born on February 14, 1923 to the late Gilford and Maudie Tate Layne. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Lewis Huggins; daughters, Louetta Dawn Stefanski and Karen Rebecca Betke; brothers, Floyd, Sam, Wayne, and James Layne; sisters, Mary Frances Laymon, Marie Davis, and Andeline Beach; special niece, Syble Ooten.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Gery Lewis Huggins, Soddy Daisy; grandson, Eric Breneman, Pikeville; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Maudie Jean Jones, Aurora, Colorado; brother, Billy Lee Layne, Dunlap; several loving nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Elizabeth will follow at 11:30 am on Thursday at the North Chapel with Pastor Tom Russell officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
