She was born October 16, 1936, on Signal Mountain, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Underwood Nixon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack L. Fryar, Grandparents Joseph Hanne Arthilla "Phil" and Martha Ellen "Mattie" Nixon, parents Arthur and Ruth Underwood Nixon, Sister Eva Ruth Hall, and brother James Arthur Nixon. She was also preceded by her precious granddaughter, Jennifer Rains. Ellen was a lifelong resident of Lookout Valley.
Survivors include Daughter Pamela Fryar Carr and her husband Chuck, sons, Stephen Leslie Fryar and his wife Rebecca and Michael Jack Fryar and his wife Marcia.
Grandchildren; Grant Stephen Fryar and his wife Bri, Benjamin Ross Fryar and his wife Diana, Jake Weston Fryar and his wife Shelby, Alyssa Fryar Allison, and her husband Matthew.
Great grandchildren: Ethan, Henley, Maddox, and Oakleigh (Grant). Elliot (Benjamin), Logan and Sloane (Jake), Caitlin Peterson Bortz, Emily and Zoe Rye (Jennifer).
Great-Great grandchildren Sheperd and Hosanna (Caitlin).
Several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
