Frank Desmond Lyons, "Daddytom", of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on February 23, 1943, Frank lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering loyalty to his beloved Tennessee Volunteers.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ishmael Lyons and Kathryn Arnold. He is survived by his brothers, Lance and Mike, sister, Michelle Powell, his daughters, Stephanie and Melissa. Frank also leaves behind his grandchildren, Justin and Jordan, as well as three great-granddaughters who brought endless joy to his later years.
A dedicated and dependable worker, Frank spent much of his professional life at Chattanooga Glass Company and later at Vulcan Materials. Frank took a lot of pride in the fact that most of the concrete in Chattanooga was poured by him. He was known for his strong work ethic, his reliability, and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Outside of work, Frank’s greatest passions were being an avid gun collector, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers. Whether watching from home or talking football with friends and family, he remained a life-long, die-hard fan, orange running through his veins.
Frank will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, and the deep love he held for the people in his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the family he adored and the memories they shared.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of Frank’s life where friends and loved ones can gather to honor and remember him will be at 2 pm in the chapel with Dewayne “Lefty” Glascock officiating. Entombment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
In honor of Daddytom the family encourages everyone to wear anything TN Vols or white and orange to the service.
The family would like to say a special thanks to cousin, Kellie Blevins for all her love and care of Frank over the years.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
