Known by many names, Nomi, Naomi, Rosie, Nanny Rose, but to many, and probably her favorite she was Nanny.
She was one of a kind and never missed an opportunity to talk about Jesus. In fact, her faith and spiritual influence will be felt for generations to come. She loved bigger than anyone else and would do anything to help someone in need. She loved working in her yard, remodeling and thrift shopping but her biggest joy was her family. She was the kind of mother/grandmother that built forts and didn’t mind the mess. In fact, she’d crawl in it with you! She’d play along with whatever adventure the kids wanted to pretend they were going on. She’d let them cook or create anything they wanted, without pause. She was a story teller... oh how her stories will be missed! Her children and grandchildren (greats and great greats) are so blessed to have had her.
Strong willed until her last breath, she fought a good fight with grace and a whole lotta grit. We can only imagine the look on her face when she finally met the Lord. What an amazing day for her! We will miss you but know that we will see you again soon.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Ronnie) Hood, Jim (Sherry) Payne, Leon (Margaret) Payne, Roland (Kerri) Rose; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many others who called her Nanny.
Visitation will be from 4-8 Tuesday, April 27th. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28th at Hamilton County Memorial Park.
