

He held a variety of interesting jobs. As a boy he worked at Kidwell’s grocery store in East Chattanooga. Later he worked for A&P grocery store as a regional trouble shooter to help stores become profitable. He worked for Mac McGann as a welder’s assistant. He sold Miracle Maid cookware and was a district manager with Kay at his side. He ended his work owning A-1 Bonding company and working as a bondsman.
He was a tireless worker of Harrison Ruritan Club. He was recently recognized by the club for 32 years of outstanding community service. He started the sale of the bbq pork as a fundraiser. He loved cooking fish for the Saturday bluegrass concerts. He left his mark on the Harrison community.
Harold was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Kay Morrison Pearson, his parents Charles and Vidda Marie Pearson and brothers Charles Pearson, Jr, Gilford Pearson, and James Berl Pearson.
He is survived by 2 children: Harold Dean Pearson, Jr. “Dee” (Anna) and Denise (Michael) Painter; 4 grandchildren: Jacqueline (Zeb) Oaks, Ashley (Blake) Vander Wyk, Philip Painter and Benjamin Painter and 2 great grandchildren: Zethan Oaks and Jase Oaks. He was also survived by his loving brothers Billy Ray Pearson and Ronnie (Beth) Pearson and his sister Mary Bradford. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harrison Ruritan Club or Crossroads Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel at 1 pm Saturday with pastor Travis Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
