

Henry Glyn Wright of Signal Mountain passed away Monday, February 4, 2013. He was born on September 28, 1930 in Yorkshire, England, to the late Henry Oliver and Florence Emily Wright. Educated in England, Glyn was a Chartered Chemist and Associate of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
In 1962, he immigrated with his family to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, to work as a research chemist for Polymer Corporation. While there, he was active in the Polymer Glee Club, where his favorite role was King Arthur in Camelot.
In 1975, he was transferred to the Chattanooga plant which was later purchased by BASF. He retired as plant superintendent in 1992. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Lynas, and children, Dr. Christine (Wm. Shelley) Parker of Chattanooga, Lt. Col. (ret.) Michael (Holly) Wright of Hudson, Florida, Susan Martin and David Wright, both of Signal Mountain. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Danielle and Jessica Wright, Bill and Jennifer Parker, Phoebe and Chloe Wright, Michael, Kevin, and Sarah Martin, and Kieran and Valerie Wright, and two nieces and four nephews. Also by sisters Lyn Wadlow and Doreen Robinson of the United Kingdom, and brother-in-law Arthur (Maureen) Lynas of Sarnia, Canada.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, February 7 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Alzheimer’s Association.
