Hilda Palmer Jones

She was born August 8, 1953, in Cleveland, Georgia to her parents, Willie Madison and Stella Gearin Palmer. Hilda attended Gainesville High School. She was a Market Manager in the Grocery Industries for over 30 years.

Hilda was of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed fishing with Charlie, antiquing for glass chickens, and painting photos of her favorite places.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Madison and Stella Gerrin Palmer; 2 sisters, Dora Belle Palmer, and Sue Jones, and 7 brothers, Eulis Palmer, Ernest Palmer, James Palmer, Gene Palmer, Don Palmer, Richard Palmer, and Elvin Palmer.

She leaves behind her husband, H. Bobby Jones of Soddy-Daisy, TN; 2 sons, Mark (Jessica) McDonald of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Johnny (Kathy) McDonald, of Gainesville, Georgia; granddaughter, Juliana McDonald of Gainesville, GA; grandsons, Corbin and Charlie McDonald of Mooresville, NC and brother, Douglas (Marie) Palmer of Winder, GA; 2 step sons Wayne (Beverly) Jones, and Jason (Angel) Jones of Soddy -Daisy, TN, 6 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday August 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Pastor Zachary Ditmar officiating.

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until service time at North Chapel.

Thanks to all the caregivers, especially Hospice of Chattanooga. The caregivers brought a lot of smiles to her beautiful face especially George Culver and Heather Dye.

The family requests contributions can be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Dayton TN office.

She is resting in the arms of Jesus!
