James Harrison Baldridge Jr. ‘Chip’, a loving father, brother, and husband passed away suddenly on June 25, 2021 at the age of 58. He is survived by his Daughter, Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Sheryl Ann Baldridge; Wife, Lori Ann Baldridge; Step-Children, Annie, Graceline, and Alexander Sanford; Grandchildren, Maddox, Mason, Roman, and Hunter; and siblings, Trish (Howard) Burger, Julie (Olin) Wilson, and Joseph “Skip” (Kelly) Baldridge; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, James Harrison 'Harry' and Mary Elizabeth 'Liz' Baldridge.
Chip was born on December 3, 1962, he attended The Baylor School, and went on to graduate from Middle Tennessee State University where he studied Recording Industry Management. His only daughter was born on November 10, 1992. He later gained three step-children when he married Lori on February 1, 2007. He was quick to crack jokes, trying to keep everyone’s spirits high, a smile on their face, and the laughs coming.
Chip was devoted to his family, friends, and the many others he cared about in life. Having defeated Lung Cancer, and a long battle with infection following, he was nothing if not a fighter. Having lived a life of adventure, Chip traveled to many countries for rock climbing, repelling, and other outdoor activities. Recently he had taken up helping others through the same struggles he faced, with his work with the Second Wind Society, where he talked to other cancer survivors and patients to help them with their needs. While Chip will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all involved in his life, we are happy for Chip, he's home.
A visitation is scheduled from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, with a private service for family following on Wednesday.
