He was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church, and was a retired employee of Kmart.
Mr. McGill was the son of the late Peter Turney and Mary Hicks McGill and was preceded in death by his first wife; Reathel McGill, second wife; Bonnie McGill, and third wife; Rose McGill. He was also preceded in death by his sons; Dennis McGill, Bobby McGill, Ricky Allen McGill, Roy McGill, and David McGill.
He is survived by his daughter; Judy Price, 5 sons; Jerry McGill, John McGill Jr., Terry McGill, James McGill Sr., and Jeff McGill, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday December 30, 2020, with Pastor Virgil Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 9:00AM until service time on Wednesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
