John was born in Clinton, Alabama to the late George and Elizabeth Williamson. He lived in Chattanooga and Birchwood most of his life. John was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church in Birchwood.
John is preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Williamson; son Durwood Williamson; parents George and Elizabeth Ellison Williamson; sisters Delene Summer and Ruth Gore; Brothers J.C and R.W. Williamson
John is survived by his daughter Rebecca Herndon of Birchwood, Tennessee; granddaughter Tamara Herndon of Birchwood, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 3-7 pm and Friday, March 21, 2014 from 11 am until the time of service at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel
Funeral services for John will be conducted at 2:30pm on Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Earl Farris and Pastor Jeff Stinnett officiating
Interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
