Joy was born to the late Benjamin (Earl) and Elma Mullins Malone. She was a graduate of Birchwood High School where she was captain of the girls basketball team. Joy retired from Hamilton County Schools. She was a long time member of Lakeway Baptist Church.
Joy was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Jerry, and her brother, Larry Malone.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Marcia (Sparky) Leamon, Christopher (Cynthia) Quinn, & Darlene Stokes, her grandchildren, Taylor (Johnathan) Rue, Corey Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Crystal (Andall) Burke, Heather (Adam) Hickman, & Elizabeth Leamon-Morris, 8 great grandchildren, brother, Benny Malone, several nieces & nephews, & many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 25, and 11am to 1 pm on Thursday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Joy will follow at 1 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel with Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
