

Martha was born and raised in Cumberland County and graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1955. She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area since 1961. Martha was a self-employed public and private accountant and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lumley and Maggie Farmer Barnes; husband, Kenneth Cofer; children, Michael and Phillip Cofer; siblings, Reba Russell, Margaret Patterson, Mildred Oakes, Mary Carol Nance, John Edward Barnes and Houston “Gibb” Barnes.
Martha is survived by her husband of 27 years, Mack Conner; daughter, Leigh Anne Topping; granddaughters, Lauren, Catelyn and Meredith Topping; grandsons, Brian Cofer and Brandon Geffre; step-daughters, Kathy Siler and Sandra Kelly; step-grandsons, Aaron Kelly and Justin Siler; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday and 12 (noon) to 1 pm on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bill Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s name to the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Cancer Center, 605 Glenwood Drive, Suite 100, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
