She was born in Rome, Georgia in 1941 to Henry and Fanny Lou Vincent. Nancy moved to Chattanooga where she studied nursing and later worked and taught nursing at Erlanger Hospital, eventually ending her nursing career at Highland Pediatrics. She especially loved working with children and newborns in the nursery.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Joseph Stephen West and her daughters, Tammy Holland and Penny (Randy) Stanford. She took great joy in her grandchildren, and they are Alexandria (Alex) Stanford-Davis, Austin (Lauren Kataja) Stanford, Laura (Mac Jacobson) Holland, and Emily Holland. Nancy is also remembered by her sister-in-law, Debbie West and nephew, Jason (Loren) West and children, Belén, Matías, Nicolás, and Benjamín, and niece, Jennifer (Mike) Booth and their children, Chase and Gavin. Special cousins and lifelong friends are Daryl and Ricky Davenport and Kenneth Ledbetter.
The family will hold a graveside service, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
