Nola Parker

Nola Goode Parker went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2015. She was a native of North Alabama, but had lived in Chattanooga, TN for 50 years. She resided in the Auburn/Opelika, AL area for the last few years.

She was an elementary school teacher for 20 years and a member of Brainerd Baptist Church, and professional and community organizations. She was member of the American Association of University Women, the Nancy Ward Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Zeta Chapter of the honorary teachers’ sorority Alpha Delta Kappa, and the Rowewood Community Club.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents Milia Davis Goode and C. O. Goode, her sister Ruth Trousdale, her brother Nile Goode, and her husband Stewart J. Parker, Jr. She is survived by three sons; Stewart J. Parker, III (Betty) of Lanett, AL, James Y. Parker (Susan) of Opelika, AL, and David Parker (Cathy) of Franklin, TN. She has seven grandchildren: Stewart J. Parker, IV (Lisa), Pearland, TX; Sidney Allen Parker (Calene), Vero Beach. FL; William Lowndes Parker (Susan), Warrior, AL; Melissa Parker Malcom, McDonough, GA; Jennifer Carol Parker, Alexandria, VA; Leslie Parker Jones (Charlie),Charlotte, NC; and Rebecca Parker Baldwin (Nick), Franklin, TN. She also has 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 10-12:30 at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Rowland Officiating

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
