He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and Air Force .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. and India Hamill Vandergriff , one brother and three sisters.
Paul is survived by sons, Larry J. Vandergriff, Paul H. Vandergriff Jr., and daughter, Judy Gay Harper, and twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great- grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral home with Rev. Terry Shannon officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the North Chapel.
Burial will be at Hixson Cemetery.
