He was born on July 10, 1943, in Daisy, TN, to the late Albert and Lucille Meadows. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Glenda Hardin, Mona Sue Hardin, and Linda Brown.
Phillip was survived by his daughters, Melissa (Bob) Stewart and Angie (Dewayne) Neighbors; sisters, Betty Smith and Louise LeRoy; and grandchildren, McKenzie Hassler, Zachary Stewart, Graham Stewart, Ella Hassler, and Trey Hassler.
He attended Soddy Daisy High School and graduated from Barber College in 1961. He was employed by Alan’s Barber Shop at Eastgate Mall. He later worked at McKee Baking Co, and his final employment was at the Hamilton County Highway Department.
Phillip was a hard-working, generous, caring man who was willing to help anyone he met. For example, he volunteered his barber skills to serve children at the local orphanage once a month. He often gave of himself, while never seeking attention or reward.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Friday, September 3, 2021, at the North Chapel – Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Pallbearers will be Bob Stewart, Zachary Stewart, Graham Stewart, Trey Hassler, Jay Hassler, and Cayce Brookshire.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
