Rachel Caves Turner, 89, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, in a local hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Katherine Caves, brother Richard Caves, Sister Corinne McCurdy, husband O.V. (Mutt) Turner, son Vernon (Gene) Turner and granddaughter Jennifer Turner Blanks. She is survived by daughters Charlene (Ron) Hudson, Jerri (Allen) Tripp, daughter-in-law Linda Turner, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She was a retired nurse, accomplished artist and an avid reader. At her request, there will be no service and asked instead that her family get together and celebrate her life. The family would like to thank the staff at NHC of Chattanooga for their extraordinary love and care they have given her during her 5 1/2 years she was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any animal shelter of your choice
