He attended Redemption Point Church and retired from Combustion Engineering after 34 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Kassie Lee Hughes.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hughes, two sons, Darrel and Jimmy Hughes, two daughters, Debbie Williams, Ronda Roderick, step –daughter, Marsha Bell, two step-sons, Kenneth and Don Long, three sisters, Connie Winters, Patsy Morgan, Carol Harnes and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Moore and Rev. Joe Sneed officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
