Richard Eugene Tallent, 84, of Hixson, Tennessee passed away May 8, 2017. He was an Exxon dealer for over twenty years; then owned Tallent Service Center in Middle Valley for over twenty-eight years. He is preceded in death by: parents, Reba and Tom Tallent, sister, Margaret Jo (Tom) Gentry, and daughter, Penny Turner. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Wanda “Sue” Tallent; children, Gary (Michelle) Tallent, David (Angie) Tallent and Russell Tallent; grandchildren, Jacob Tallent, Madison Tallent, Brett Tallent and four other grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Harrell and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center and Katy with Avalon Hospice. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home with a committal service to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avalon Hospice, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 19, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421.
