Mr. Robert “Bob” L. Chaplin, 86, of Chattanooga passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his residence. Bob was born in Des Moines IA on June 1, 1930. He retired as a Corporate VP and Controller for Maytag. Bob was a member of St John United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Ruby (Harkins) Chaplin and his step-mother, Rose Chaplin. He is survived by his wife, Linda Chaplin of Chattanooga; son, Steve Chaplin of Honolulu, HI; daughter, Lisa Chaplin of Iron River, WI; brother, James Chaplin and wife, Judy Poindexter of Long Beach, CA; Nieces, Jama Chaplin of Garberville, CA and Julia Chaplin of Richmond, TX. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev Carl Blackburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to St John United Methodist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
