

He was a member of Christ Reformed Church. Roger graduated from Hixson High School and attended Tennessee Tech University. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and played for their minor league team. He worked for various companies in Chattanooga including working 29 years at the U.S. Post Office. He retired as manager of the Red Bank Post Office.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Opaline O’Haver, a son, Greg O’Haver, and sister, Connie Sergeant O’Haver.
Roger coached Dixie Youth Baseball with winning teams. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and best of all playing tennis with his sons.
Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jo, sons, Roger, Jr., Randy (Kathy), Steve (Terri) and special daughter-in-law, Vicki O’Haver, sister, Sharon (Jeff) Keeling, grandchildren, Greg B., Alex, Lexi, Eli, Colby, Stevie, Sami, Paradon, Melissa, and Ashley, great granddaughters, Adrienne and Roselynn, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga, Mountain View Team for the loving care they provided.
Celebration of life services will be held 3:00 Monday, October 25 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Reverend Britt Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-3 Monday.
