Sarah F. (Harris) Hester

Sarah was a 1954 graduate of Hixson High School where she lettered four years on the girls’ basketball team and was a member of Hixson’s first volleyball team. She attended Tennessee Tech University where she met and married her husband of 63 years, Charles Hester. Sarah was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, camping, arranging flowers, being a social butterfly, and spending time with friends and family.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Hester, and her son, Charles E. Hester, II.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Parks and Kandy Turner; seven grandchildren, Daniel Hester, Caitlyn Gillum, Michael Hester, Benjamin Parks, Jacob Parks, Ransom Barnes, Charles Caiman Barnes; her sister, Betsy Cronan; and nephews, Jeff Cronan and David Cronan.

Jeff Cronan would like to recognize the wonderful love and care that was provided by the staff of Hixson Morning Pointe and the Lantern.

A private, family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Sarah Hester’s name.
