Theodore Lincoln Bryant, better known by Pastor Tedd was born October 31, 1951 in Lynchburg, Virginia and died March 13, 2018 in Hixson, Tennessee. He was pre-deceased by his father and survived by his mother, Nevada Huttar; twin-sister, Cathy Ruecroft; brothers, Albert and Willie all from Virginia; and his brother-in-Christ, Dr. Dwight Mayberry.
Tedd graduated from Shenandoah Valley Academy following which he worked two years in a law office in Richmond, Virginia.
He then joined the U.S. Army in the chaplain corps and served 20 years with 15 in Germany and the Gulf war in Iraq. After the army Tedd spent two years as hospital chaplain assistant, then moving to Rockford, Illinois he started college earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Tedd then went on to graduate work at Chicago Theological Seminary, switching after one year to Eden Theological Seminar in St. Louis, Missouri where he received his Masters of Divinity Degree. Upon completing as internship at the Byron United Church of Christ, he was ordained and served as pastor of the Eden United Church of Christ in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for two and a half years.
In 2013 he moved to Lakesite, Tennessee with his brother-in-Chirst, Dr. Mayberry. Tedd was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ and also attended Hixson Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a volunteer at the Mayberry After School Learning Center and where ever the Lord needed him.
He believed in the Lord first, others second and himself last.
Services will be on Sunday, March 18, at the Hixson Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6424 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tennessee, visitation from 3-4 with services and military honor guard at 4. A reception will follow at the church.
