

Tom grew up in Red Bank and was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. Football was Tom’s life. He graduated from Red Bank High School where he played for his dad and was a member of the 1978 State AAA runner-up team. Tom joined the Marines right out of high school, graduating from boot camp as “Honor Man” in a platoon of over 100 recruits. While serving in the Marine Corps Reserves, Tom played for UTC in the mid 80s. He was on the last UTC team to win the Southern Conference in 1984. Tom coached for 25 years at five different colleges including Ole Miss and UTC. He coached locally at four high schools including Soddy Daisy, Bradley County, Baylor, and Signal Mtn. Tom was proud to be a Marine and he was proud of the kids he coached.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother Lynda Weathers.
Tom is survived by his son Nicholas, Nicholas’s mother Kenna Rominger, his father Tom Weathers Sr., his brothers Wendell and Jeff, and his dear friend Melody Kennedy.
Tom’s family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the North Chapel.
Services for Tom will follow at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel with Rev. Matt Hampton officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tom’s son, Nicholas Weathers for his college fund at P. O. Box 17085, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
