

Vicki Arlene McCurry, a cherished and devoted soul, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Vicki was known for her resilient spirit and humorous nature, traits that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Born to Thom and Ruth Adkins on October 7, 1952, in Soddy Daisy, TN, Vicki was one of two daughters. She attended Hixson High School, where she began to form the foundation of her future endeavors.
Vicki worked as a dispensing optician for Payless Optical for six years, where her dedication and hard work were evident in all she did.
On April 13, 1979, she married Daryl McCurry, and together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Vicki was a devoted mother, raising one son, and her family was the center of her world.
Her personal interests were as varied as they were creative. Vicki loved making jewelry, candles, leather work, and sewing. She also had a passion for fishing at Booker T. Washington State Park, where she spent many peaceful hours.
Vicki and her husband enjoyed a close-knit community life, sharing meals with their friend group every Tuesday night, a tradition they upheld for five years, strengthening bonds and creating cherished memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Adkins and Ruth Imogene Petty.
Survivors include her husband, Daryl McCurry; son, Charles Cranston Morrison, Jr.; sister, Karen (Bill) Kapher; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial visitation for Vicki will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home -North, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, TN 37343.
