

William Jimmy Pitts, 72, of Chattanooga and a resident of Cape Coral, Florida for the past 12 years, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at his home in Cape Coral surrounded by family members. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after a successful career of 30 years and relocated to Cape Coral. He was educated in the Chattanooga public schools and received his associates degree through the Chrysler programs in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Wille Mae Pitts; sons, Michael Steven Pitts; James Reginald Pitts; grandson, Jeremy Allen Pitts and sister, Bernice Pitts Nelson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Fay Pitts of Cape Coral, Fl; sisters, Helen Gladden Duncan, Cohutta, Ga., Gail Harvey and husband Ronnie, of Chattanooga; brother Derrill Pitts and wife Judy, of Chattanooga; brother in law, David Nelson; sister-in-law Joyce Edwards and husband Bill; daughter- in- law Nora Pitts of Detroit, Mi; granddaughter Danielle Coldicott and husband Nick; and two wonderful great granddaughters.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2nd, at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens for the family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, Fl. 33909 or Hospice of Chattanooga.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
