Alfred was born to Guadalupe and Rosie Contreras, on February 16, 1936, in Monterrey, Mexico. He married Hortense Villarreal in June of 1953 and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 4 children.
He is survived by his children Geneva, Becky and Alfred Jr.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hortense and son Gabriel Thomas Contreras.
Alfred was a business owner of Harrisburg Motor Parts, for over 50 years. He sought peace and serenity by taking his wife, Tencha and pet Peanut to the Texas City Dikes. He enjoyed the scenic view of the water and passing ships.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday from 5-8pm, with rosary at 6p; in the Colonial chapel. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 16th at 1p in the Main Chapel at Forest Park Funeral Home 6900 Lawndale Houston, Texas and Burial at 2pm. A reception will follow at American Legion post #472 at 7599 Avenue C. The family would also like to thank the medical staff at Methodist Clear Lake for compassionate care of our Father, Alfred Contreras.
