Anita Aguirre, a beloved and kind-hearted individual, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on September 25, 1948, in Galveston, Texas, Anita was known for her bravery, devotion, and selflessness. She was a resident of Houston, Texas, where she touched the lives of many with her thoughtful and loyal nature.
Anita's early education was completed at Marshall Middle School and Sam Houston High School. She dedicated 25 years of her career to Rayner Sausage, where she served as the head steward for the meat packing union. Her hard-working and honest demeanor made her a respected figure in her field. Anita also had a strong love for political involvement, often volunteering for campaigns, including those of Sylvia Garcia and Adrian Garcia.
Her personal interests reflected her deep patriotism and love for the United States. Anita was very patriotic and expressed this through her community involvement and personal hobbies. Her benevolent spirit and protective nature were evident in her desire to safeguard her family and community.
Anita is survived by her brother, Alfonso Zapata Aguirre (Dora Aguirre), and her sisters, Birdie Bain (Gary Westbrook) and Cindy Lozano (George Lozano). She was predeceased by her father, Jesse F. Aguirre, and her mother, Angelina Z. Aguirre. Anita is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on September 30, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. A committal service will take place at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
