Anita M. Gonzales


Anita was born to Herculano and Leona Mendoza on September 5, 1942 in Houston, Texas. She grew up and lived in Houston all her life and graduated from San Jacinto High School. Anita loved to draw and she left many drawings for her family to enjoy.

Anita married the love of her life, Eddie Joe Gonzales on June 2, 1964. They lived together in Houston, Texas and raised four children. Anita is survived by her daughter Maria Burrage and husband Matt, and her sons Eddie Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales, Stephen Gonzales and his wife Becky, granddaughter Alexandra Moura, step-grandson Robert Juarez Jr., and one great-granddaughter Arya Juarez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters Frances Sanchez and Stella Rodriquez, along with many nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents Herculano and Leona Mendoza, her sisters Grace Gomez, Julia Palmeros, Teresa Zepeda and nephew Dominic Zepeda. 


A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a committal from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
