Anita Joyce Thompson

Joy was born in Bridgeport, Texas on March 20, 1931. She graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA and then attended secretarial school. She worked for Cities Services Oil Company in Shreveport where she met her husband, Jerry Thompson. After their move to Houston, Joy served many years as the secretary to the pastor at Spring Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Y.L. and Annis Power, her husband of 64 years, Jerry Thompson, and daughter, Kelli Thompson.

She is survived by children, Brett Thompson and wife, Cindy, and Stacy Landt and husband, Craig. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kade, Preston, Zack, Kane, Justin, Hannah, Karli, and 10 great grandchildren whom she loved to watch play together.

A Funeral Service will be held at Spring Baptist Church, 633 E Louetta Rd, Spring, TX 77373, US, on April 16, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a Reception - Gathering Family and Friends at Spring Baptist Church, 633 E Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77373, on April 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm.

Visitation will take place at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, US, on April 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm, and a Committal Service will follow at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, US, on April 16, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
