Anna Marie Hinkelman

Anna Marie Hinkelman, 96, of The Woodlands, Texas a homemaker and mother of four whose life was centered on family, died on May 10th, 2025, at The Village of Woodlands, an assisted living/memory care facility in The Woodlands. Anna was born October 3, 1928 to Filomena and Andro Quaglieri in Colonie, NY. In August 1956, she married Curtis H. Hinkelman, of Albany, whom she met at the bowling alley they frequented. After marrying, Anna and Curt moved to Texas where Curt attended SMU and later moved to Houston where Curt began his career at Shell Oil and they started their family.

Like many women of her generation, Anna opted not to work outside the home on a full-time basis. She instead dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 65 years, Curt, and their 4 children. Anna would work part-time positions in the afternoons when Curt came home from work and on weekends.

Anna was known for her loud, proud and fierce Italian personality. She loved to cook and was known for her homemade Italian ravioli and lasagna. Anna never met a stranger. She loved meeting new people, going out of her way to welcome new neighbors into the neighborhood, forming long and lasting relationships. But, the times she savored most was spending time at their lake house in Livingston where she and Curt would host numerous gatherings with family and friends sharing their love of the outdoors.

Anna’s favorite holiday was Christmas. The spirit of hospitality in Anna and Curt’s home was amazing. She and Curt were known for hosting this event which ran all day, an event eagerly anticipated by all the kids and grandkids each year.

Anna’s hobbies included puzzles, games, watching her beloved Astros, and making crochet yarn hangers and annual sequined calendars which she shared with family and friends.

Anna is survived by her children: Carol (and Michael) Parker, N.Y., Jan (and Tim) Heine, TX; Ron (and Chris) Hinkelman, TX; and Scott Hinkelman, TX; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one brother, Donald J. Quaglieri Sr.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Curt, her parents, and two brothers.

Anna was a longtime member and volunteer at Living Word Lutheran Church, The Woodlands, Tx. Anna loved her church and church community.
