

Annie was born July 22, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Littie Matlock and Henry Wilkerson, both who preceded her in death. Annie accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church under the Reverend Harry Blake. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where served as Vice President of the Modern Music Masters. Annie went on to attend at Grambling Stae University where she met her husband, Rudolph Wilson. Soon after marrying, the newlyweds settled in Houston, Texas.
Annie gave birth to her first-born child Rochelle Wilson on December 22nd and four years later, Rhonda Wilson was born May 31st.
While raising 2 small children, Ann pursed a career in the medical field. She became the Supervisor of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department at the VA Medical Center. While working in the EKG Department, Ann trained a team of doctors that contributing to published research in various heart studies.
Ann loved spending time with friends and family, and she loved making phone calls to “just say hello and I love you” and she loved singing the Happy Birthday Song on your birthday. She had a deep love for traveling, reading, cake decorating and flower arrangement. However, her deepest love and passion was The Lord.
Annie leaves behind her husband, Rudy and two children, Rochelle and Rhonda Wilson, her granddaughter Ashley and godson Matthew Parker and sister Katheryn Bell, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her best friends Dorothy Ashley and Ruby Jewel Bell and of course her sister-in-law that she called her sister Odessa Wilson.
