Prayers continue for her family and friends.  I just found out about her passing.  I was her sister in law...Buchtien.  Peace be with you.

Jim, Aunt Martha Ann, Mitch and Debbie, We are keeping you in our warmest thoughts and prayers as you each navigate this difficult time.  We just want you to know that we love and care about you and truly share in your sadness.  Anthea impacted all our lives and she will be surely be missed. We are here for each of you always.

So many memories and so many good times together.  As one of only three “girl” cousins, we were always playing ,talking and spending time together as we grew up.  Anthea, Janece (my little sister)and I spent many wonderful hours playing together during our growing up years as my family would spend almost every summer and every Christmas here in Houston with my Mom’s side of the family. We would play with our Troll dolls, card games and board games.  We especially liked to play Mystery Date.  It was so much fun trying to never pick the “Dud” guy!  We would scream and laugh if we got him!!We had so much fun together.  
   I can remember one Christmas we dressed up (with the help of our Moms) as a Live Nativity scene and went out to the culdesac and sang Christmas songs as many many cars drove around us.  Anthea was Mary, I was Joseph and Janece was baby Jesus.  It was so much fun.  Another great Memory was going to Dallas and meeting the Osmonds!!  We actually had lunch with them in the Hotel cafe!  We were all Donny crazy with his pictures just covering our walls.  Such a wonderful childhood and I am so thankful that I got to share that with Anthea and my sister,Janece.  
   I loved Anthea’s sense of style and admired how effortlessly it came to her.  She was the one who introduced me to white lipstick and white nail polish in the 70’S. Funny how that fashion has come around again!!! 
Anthea, you were such an important part of my growing up years.  I love you and will truly miss you Cuz!!

Anthea, reflecting back to when we were young, we were called Bubba and Sister. I remember going to Mom complaining to her when you started calling me by my real name, “Mom, make Sister quit calling me Mitch.” You seemed to mature much faster than your older brother. Years later at baseball games, I remember cringing when I would hear Mom yelling, “Come on Bubba” from the stands. Growing up we didn’t go on many vacations. Maybe that’s why you enjoyed traveling so much as an adult or maybe you just took after Granny. We had that joke that Granny would be sitting in the car and ask, “Where we going?” One time Mom put you and I on a Greyhound bus to visit Karen and Janice in Arlington. You in the 5th grade, me in the 6th, and we had so much fun eating snacks and looking out at all the sites along the way. While we were there, Uncle Red took all of us fishing down at the creek. We were shocked when we caught this huge 6 lb drum and pulled it on the bank. All of us were so proud! The Holidays were big family gatherings. Granny and Papa, Uncle Charles, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Gloria and way too many cousins to name, would come to our house. All the adults were inside cooking, drinking, all the kids out in the yard. I remember one Christmas we had gotten these giant bouncy balls with handles that you could bound down the street on.  Well, with nine boys and three girls, the bouncing around turned into hey, let’s see if we can clobber each other into oblivion with these big rubber air filled balls with handles. That lasted until you ran into the house and grabbed Mom and she came out to put a stop to it because she didn’t want you to get hurt. It’s funny how some things never change. As an adult, you looking after Mom, she looking after you. That’s how it was. Don’t worry little sister, I’ll look after Mom until you both can meet again. I hide my tears when I say your name. Although I smile and seem care free, there are very few people that will miss you more than me.

Jim, we were so sorry to hear about Anthea’s passing. The pain of your loss has truly been felt by us all. Anthea was a precious daughter, wife, and a beautiful human being. Her impeccable sense of style was always apparent, from the house that she kept to the clothes that she wore. We will miss her. Jim, may you be granted the strength you need in the coming days. We’re holding you in our hearts.

One of my fondest memories as a teenager was our family vacation to Santa Fe. I’ll never forget Anthea and I were out shopping and saw Paula Abdul and Emilio Estevez.

We are sharing in your sadness as you remember Anthea and sending prayers for strength as you navigate the tough road of grief. I know that there are no words right now strong enough to heal or bring you the comfort you desire. We just want to be sure you all know that you are surrounded by family and friends that extend their love and thoughts right now. We are praying that eventually you may find some joy in the many years of memories that you all have shared with Anthea. Family is such a special gift! She forever remains your daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law that you will continue to love and keep in your hearts and hopefully you will celebrate her life forever. Rest in peace, dear little niece! I shall never forget the first time I ever saw you at age nine months at Granny and Papa’s house. You were a little doll then and forever.
