away early Tuesday, July 22, 2020. Audrey was a beautician, an
artist, an avid reader, and a dedicated and loving homemaker, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her
husband of 66 years and love of her life, Vernon Hickman, who was a retired
Houston Police Captain; her parents, William Jerome Bennight and
Alley Faye Coats Bennight; and brothers JD Bennight and Wilbert
George “Bookie” Bennight. She is survived by her son, Michael D.
Hickman and wife, Lilie; her daughter, Patricia Ann “Penny” Dain
and husband, Lee; two grandchildren, Brian Hickman and Jessica
Fairbanks and husband, Kelly; seven great-grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Destiny, Siobhan,
Danica, Jacob, and Clee; and numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives. Audrey has been a longtime resident
of Clarewood House Retirement Community. She will be laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
