Barbara Ann Holliday Hill Graham was born July 14, 1938 and passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on October 2, 2024 at the age of 86. As a treasured sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Barbara will be desperately missed and never forgotten.
Barbara was born in Montgomery, Louisiana to parents Norman Holliday and Olene Killingsworth. She was the middle daughter between 2 brothers, Joe Holliday and Derrell Holliday. Barbara grew up during the end of the Great Depression on farms where she learned to harvest, cook, and preserve all kinds of fresh vegetables and fruits. Her family enjoyed all her culinary arts such as her Louisiana gumbo, chicken dressing, chicken and dumplings, soups, and fig preserves.
In 1955, Barbara married Jack Hill and moved to East Texas. Shortly after, the family moved to Houston and grew to include 3 sons; Danny Hill, Craig Hill, and Kenneth Hill. During this time Barbara developed her professional career as a multi-family unit property manager, eventually working in the Finger family organization. Their life was filled with hard work but they always managed to make time for family, fun, and fishing.
In 1972 Barbara married Al Graham. She added 2 step daughters, Barbara Graham and Janet Graham to her ever expanding world. Barbara and Al owned their business in the real estate market in Houston. Barbara and Al loved to have a good time dancing and partying with the family and numerous friends.
Barbara’s innate sense of style, decorating skills, and ever generous heart made her a treasured friend and confidant to so many friends. Her home was impeccably decorated and every season found her in her yard planting flowers. Her “green thumb” was only matched by her wonderful sense of style.
Barbara was always going and doing to create so many cherished memories with family and friends. From fishing trips to Port Mansfield and Lake Livingston , Christmas markets with her many girlfriends, to skiing trips in Colorado, to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Amsterdam, Germany, Portugal , Australia , there was no place or no adventure that Barbara would ever miss.
Faith, family, and friends were the guiding forces in Barbara’s well lived life. Her death is preceded by her husbands, Jack Hill and Al Graham, as well as her son Danny Hill, her brothers Joe and Derrell, step-daughter Janet Spencer, and her grandson Joby Hill.
