Barbara Barber

Barbara Jean Shawn-Barber, born in Pharr, TX on January 8, 1941, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2011.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents James R. & Josephine Shawn and her son Gary Shawn Barber. She is survived by children Beverly (Leon) Levandowski of Houston, Rebecca (Sean) Harvey of Katy, Gary Beau (Lizz) Barber, grandchildren Jessica, Jimmy & Jackie Hanley, Alexandria, Brittaney, Bobbie & Gary Barber of Houston and brothers, James C. (Blanca) Shawn of San Juan & Gene Shawn of Pharr.

“Big Mama,” as she was affectionately known, lived her life to the very fullest. Riding her 3-Wheeler Trike cross country, camping out on the beaches of Padre Island, watching a good soccer game or just curling up with a good book, she enjoyed each and every moment.

A memorial service celebrating “Big Mama’s” life will be held at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, TX. For detailed information, please email [email protected]
